My name is Meg Trast. I was born and raised in the state of California, and I moved to the Midwest as a teenager, where I have been for over a decade. I have a great love for science fiction and fantasy, and literature is my greatest passion. When I'm not writing or editing, I enjoy cooking shows, art, knitting, and a smidge of video games. It is a rare thing, in this world, to know who you are and to be able to do what you love. My blessings are countless, and I am ecstatic to be sharing my skills and knowledge with an abundance of talented authors. Writing is a way that we share a part of ourselves with the world and with each other; it is the ultimate show of vulnerability, and to publish a book is to say, "Look at me! I have shown my true self and I am proud!" We are all growing, changing, and (hopefully) improving each day, and never is this more obvious than in the written word. By telling stories, we create a door into which strangers can see us, our thoughts, and how our minds work. We create complex characters who all hold little pieces of us. We expand, and we travel to places that we could never see otherwise.
“We write to taste life twice: in the moment and in retrospect.”
― Anais Nin
“Fantasy is hardly an escape from reality. It's a way of understanding it.”
― Lloyd Alexander
“There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stop the story.”
― Frank Herbert
